Bio: 

Being born into the Nepalese Koirala family, Sujata Koirala was involved in politics from an early stage of her life. At present, she is a Central Working Committee Member, Head of the International Relations Department and Member of the Parliamentary Board of the Nepali Congress Party. Sujata Koirala is also serving as the Standing Committee Member of the International Conference for Asian Political Parties (ICAPP), Vice Chair- ICAPP Women’s Wing and Chairperson, The Global Climate and Ecological Alliance (GCPEA) Women’s Wing. In the past, she has served as the Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nepal.

In addition to her political career, Sujata Koirala is actively involved in social works. She is founder president of the Girija Prasad Koirala Foundation for Democracy, Peace and Development (GPKF) and of the Sushma Koirala Memorial Trust (SKMT).
