PN Meets with Delegation of Colombian Parliamentarians

PN Coordinator Agnes Venema has met in Brussels with a delegation of Colombian parliamentarians involved in the national Congress Committee for Peace. The delegation is conducting a European series of roundtables to advocate for national peace and dialogue with regard to the FARC conflict as well as to promote reconciliation between different sectors of Colombian society.

The meeting has been an exceptional opportunity to discuss the Parliamentarian Network’s purposes and to share our mechanisms to build political will, advocate for increased capacity on conflict prevention and, overall, strengthen cooperation across different regions worldwide.

This is the very first time members of PN are meeting with an entire Latin American delegation. A furthering in relations will be a striking opportunity to strengthen cooperation in the region, discuss past experiences and common goals and, in particular, to support the peace process in Colombia.
