Bio:
Marianne Malak, a Coptic-Christian, was elected to the Egyptian Parliament in 2012 as the youngest Member of Parliament in Egyptian history. With a degree in law, a master in human rights, and a PhD in international law, Marianne was a member of the Constituent Assembly, which drew up a new constitution for Egypt. She was one of the first women to sit on the platform of the Egyptian parliament, and is a member of the International Parliament Union. Currently, she serves on Egypt's National Council for Human Rights (NCHR) and the Committee of Constitution and Legislation; as well as the Tourism, Culture and Media Committee of the Egyptian Parliament.
