Pakistan: Current Politics, Security Issues and Relations with the EU

The Hanns Seidel Foundation is organizing an expert round table discussion with a delegation from the Committee of Foreign Affairs of the Senate of Pakistan in order to address current politics and security issues in South Asia as well as Pakistani relations with the European Union.

Speakers:

Senator Haji Mohammed Adeel, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, and Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Defense, will present their views on the political and economic situation of Pakistan within the region and discuss challenges and ways forward with PN member Michael Gahler, MEP, and other European and international experts. The round table discussion will be moderated by Ambassador Dr. Beate Maeder-Metcalf, Vice-President and Director for Regional Security at the EastWest Institute.

The Round Table will take place on Tuesday, 08 July 2014 from 10h00 to 11h45 at the Representation of the State of Hessen to the EU, Rue Montoyer 21, 1000 Brussels.
