PN Member Evgeni Kirilov Amends EU Report on Serbia's Progress

For the first time the problems of the Bulgarian minority in Serbia are included in the progress report on Serbia. The amendment, filed by Bulgarian MEP Evgeni Kirilov, was taken into consideration by the rapporteur, the press office of the Bulgarian MEP announced.

A report on Serbia’s progress in 2012 on the country’s way to European integration by Slovenian MEP Jelko Kacin was discussed at the sitting of the European Parliament in Strasbourg. Bulgarian MEP Evgeni Kirilov, [...], remarked that in contrast to previous years the problems connected to the Bulgarian minority in the West regions, were explicitly mentioned in the final version of the document, which will [was] voted on Thursday. In his statement during the debates he stressed that the problems were on a local level but unfortunately they remained unsolved. Kirilov also expressed hopes that the Serbian authorities would make the needed efforts in this direction.
