PN Member Dov Khenin Speaks with Israeli PM to Moderate Governance Bill

July 29, 2013

Knesset members Isaac Herzog (Labor) and Dov Khenin (Hadash) spoke with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with the purpose of reaching a deal with the coalition to moderate the "Governance Bill," which they claim hurts democracy.

The new bill contains a number of contested points meant to increase the power of the executive branch, including the raising of the electoral threshold to 4% and raising the majority necessary to pass a motion of no confidence to 65 MKs instead of the current 61.
