October 22, 2013

The group of Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan invites to an evening debate on the "Impact of 2014 Elections on Afghan Women and Peace", to be held at the University of Ottawa Social Sciences Building, Room 4004, on October 22 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.

The evening will start with a screening of the documentary "25 Darsad" (25 Percent) by filmmaker and women's rights activist Diana Saqeb. The film shows the daily lives of six female members of the Afghan Parliament. It has been shown at festivals in Krakow, Guangzhou, and Sweden, as well as in the UK, at the Swedish and Norwegian Parliaments, and at the ISAF Camp in Mazar-e-sharif.

The screening will be followed by a discussion with Ms Sabrina Saqeb MP from Afghanistan and PN member Senator Mobina Jaffer from Canada.
